CV educator

Your CV is the central document of your application. It shows you at a glance, what education and qualifications you have for a position. We will show you step by step how to write the best CV.

The most important information for writing your CV Educator CV

The CV clearly shows your previous educational and professional career with all relevant information and achievements. For the employer, the CV is therefore the most important document in your application, even before the cover letter and possibly the application photo. Many daycare providers use it to get a first impression of your qualifications and professional experience.

Especially for the childcare sector, it is important that the CV clearly highlights the applicant's educational skills and experience, as these are directly related to the quality of care and education provided to children. A convincing CV can help to attract the employer's interest and present the applicant as a competent and suitable professional for work in childcare.

What types of resumes are there?

There are three types of resumes that may be relevant to your application documents:

  • Tabular

  • Detailed

  • Handwritten

The most common form is the tabular CV. Unless the advertised position requires otherwise, you should choose this option.

A resume is a structured and clear presentation of your personal information, education, professional experience, knowledge and skills in table format. A cover sheet is optional and not always used, but it can give a professional impression and add a personal touch to your resume.

Here is a common structure and content of a tabular resume:

The classic structure of a CV looks like this:

  • Title “CV”

  • Personal information (name, date and place of birth, nationality)

  • Contact details (phone, email, address)

  • Marital status

  • School, training, studies (starting with the most recently completed training)

  • Professional experience (starting with the last position held, including position)

  • Knowledge, additional qualifications (IT and language skills)

  • Interests / hobbies

It is important that your tabular resume is clearly structured, well formatted and easy to read. Use a professional font and appropriate font size to ensure your resume looks professional and appealing.

What do you need to consider regarding the content?

A tabular CV is:

  • complete,

  • meaningful,

  • error-free,

  • structured and clear

At first glance, daycare providers must be able to see who you are, what experience you have already gained and what knowledge and qualifications you bring to the job. It must be easy to see whether you are a kindergarten teacher, child care worker, special education teacher or educational assistant. Whether you are applying for a job in a nursery or kindergarten and whether you have professional experience in the field.

You should avoid gaps in your CV. However, gaps lasting up to six months are often not a problem. Nowadays, there are hardly any daycare providers who expect applicants to have been continuously employed since their studies or training.

According to the AGG, it is forbidden to ask for a photo for your application. If there is nothing written about the application photo, it is up to you whether you include one or not. If you do not feel comfortable with it, no one can discriminate against you because of it. However, you can sometimes score points with a friendly smile, which is why we would advise you to include a photo for your application.

How long should your resume be?

Your CV should ideally be no longer than one, maximum two, A4 pages. A general rule of thumb: as short as possible, as long as necessary. No facility manager wants to spend a lot of time reading your CV.
